![]() Parsec is proprietary desktop capturing application primarily used for playing games through video streaming but it also can connect to your desktop and not only games. I have read and tried one of the best applications that I have been so blinded before and asked myself why haven’t I used this before… - PARSEC! Like I said, if you want to do something that’s simply working on a document or working with some explorer files that should be enough but if you are working on large projects or even gaming or doing anything else that basically has a lot of movement on the screen you are screwed. Honestly, TeamViewer, AnyDesk and all the majority remote desktop software do the job but just to manage something “lightweight” because in reality the connection quality is bad, the input delay is bad and sometimes it crashes. I have been using TeamViewer and AnyDesk for years now and honestly never changed until recently. Thanks so much to anyone who even offers suggestions it's been a pain trying to sort through all the outdated threads and complex pricing and "contact us" quotes.Įdit: thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! nice to see such a response! We don't need a quick simple way for end users to install, we need a reliable way to keep the system monitored and accessible. We would primarily be using it for unattended access or remote support on preconfigured devices. What remote control/access/desktop software do you use or recommend, and how has your experience been? Really would rather not have to play the firewall and IP game either btw, as some devices are moved between networks. ConnectWise so far has been nice but the iOS app is horrible and I still feel like the pricing is high. You'll see an overlay at the top-center of the screen showing the Menu (three lines) and Keyboard icons in white, which can be used to switch between remote sessions, and toggle different input options. So I guess AnyDesk changed their plans (for the worse) and TeamViewer is the same awfulness as usual despite having maybe the most robust software. ![]() Once successfully connected, you'll be looking at the Windows desktop for your campus PC. ![]() You can choose to store your credentials using the checkbox. Enter bsclogon\username (using your username) for the user, and type in your Network password, then click Connect. You'll be prompted to log in with your Network credentials. It's normal to get this message, so go ahead and click Connect. The first time you open a session, it will warn you that the " Certificate can't be verified," and ask if you want to connect anyway. After setting up your Gateway, the computer will appear as a square icon with the Device Name on the main page of Microsoft Remote Desktop.Options for sounds and saving files to the Chromebook can also be changed here, or you can simply click Save in the upper-right to complete setup.Enter any description you like for the " Friendly name," and choose Add gateway for the " Gateway," and enter Click to expand the " Show additional options" chevron.Enter the Device Name for your campus computer for the " Host name or IP address.".Open Microsoft Remote Desktop app after installing, and click the + icon in the upper-right, then choose the Desktop option. This can make it easier to install on other devices in the future, if using the same account. ![]() Note: Clicking Install will also add the app to the list of "owned" apps for the account you're logged in with. ![]()
